     MSI was developed based on longitudinal study of over 105,000
 clinical cases over a period of 11 years from various clinical
 settings. It diagnoses a multisystemic medical and psychiatric
 symptom distribution, degrees of clinical impairment, and various
 levels of past, current, and persistent symptomatology. It gives
 multidisciplinary interactive clinical profile with index weights
 based on HCFA nomenclature, comprehensive ICD-9, DRG and MDC table,
 and longitudinal symptom monitoring schedules. MSI was developed
 as part of the Diagnostically Focused Clinical Performance Indicator
 Monitoring System for wide range of general medical and mental health
 settings.
