This profile is confidential and is developed for use by professional staff
only. Its intended purpose, combined with other instruments, is to delineate
directions for further assessment of the job applicant. Recommendations made
in this profile do not imply that other approaches should be replaced or
modified. Statements in this profile should be interpreted as hypotheses for
further consideration in combination with other assessment factors utilized
in the individualized and comprehensive screening and selection process.

NOTE TO THE PROFESSIONAL
The purpose of the Law Enforcement Screening Inventory Interpretive
Profile is to define a comprehensive spectrum of each applicant's
emotional, behavioral, social and legal functional characteristics.
Additionally, this profile delineates those areas which may require
further assessment and consideration.
The contents of this profile are confidential and are intended to be
used by the professional staff only. Since the accuracy of this profile
relies solely on the client's willingness, ability and readiness to recall
and disclose issues which may be confidential, and even critical to that
client's emotional, behavioral, social, legal, and eligibility status,
it is recommended that this instrument alone not be used as a single
determinant of the individual's preparedness and ability to perform
duties and responsibilities of the job for which that individual is
applying.
It is highly recommended that the client's responses, and specific
areas delineated in this profile, be carefully compared for consistency,
validity, comprehensiveness, and accuracy with the responses given on
all other instruments used in the screening process. It is the possible
congruence, or discrepancy among the findings of the instruments used in
the assessment process which could perhaps provide the most reliable
avenue and justification for further investigation, assessment and
comparison.
Quantity and type of other assessment instruments, the nature and the
duration of the assessment process, a possibility of test anxiety or test
fatigue, test saturation effects, and other variables should also be taken
into account when making a final decision regarding the contents of each
interpretive profile used in the screening process, including the results
obtained with the Law Enforcement Screening Inventory.
